Daniel Joseph Moon SHARPSBURG, GA - Mr. Daniel Joseph Moon, age 56, of Sharpsburg, passed away November 28, 2013. Danny deeply loved his family and friends, and they all returned that love to him. He had a keen sense of humor and a broad smile on his face. Danny retired from Federal Service in January 2013, having worked as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the FAA for 25 years. He also served his country for 17 years in the Air Force Reserve as a mechanic and flight engineer on the C141B Starlifter at the Charleston Air Force Base, Charleston, SC, retiring in 1997. Danny was a member of the East Point Lodge #288, the F&A Masons and the Yaarab Shrine. Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but by none more than the love of his life, his wife Mary Helen Moon, with whom he had shared his life for the past 33 years. May he forever rest in peace in the arms of his loving Heavenly Father until we meet him again. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Dorothy Moon; daughter, Patti Moon and is survived by his wife, Mary Moon of Sharpsburg; daughter and son in-law, Laura and William Orr; grandson, Mason Orr ; sister, Faye Payne of Carolina Beach, NC; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 4 o'clock at Orchard Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Stacy Thomas officiating.
