Damon D'Eustachio Obituary

Damon Louis D'Eustachio JAMES ISLAND - Well into his 40's, Damon Louis D'Eustachio passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at his home on James Island. He is survived by his dear son Henry, whom he loved with all his heart, his mother, Roberta, his step-father Jerry Alten, his wife, Jessica Lambrakos, and many step-sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his wagging dogs. Because of the global pandemic still ravaging our world, a Zoom tech event is being organized by family and friends to honor and memorialize, our dear friend. (See contact info below.) A foodie who navigated his way from the city of brotherly love to Charleston, S.C, Damon spent a good part of his life cooking for and eating with his family and friends. As soon as he arrived in Charleston more than twenty years ago, he fell in love with a certain restaurant he found walking late one night down a mysterious, historic lane, called Fulton Five. He said to himself, "I shall work there one day." And he did. For more than 17 years he was a devoted staff member, generously serving the lovers of the restaurant, who came regularly to enjoy and devour life. Damon graduated from the College of Charleston in Art Administration and performed an internship at London's prestigious Tate Gallery's New York City branch office. He also assisted in the very early stages of the philanthropic publications of both Giving Magazine and The American Benefactor. He tasted his way through Costa Rica, France, Greece, England and many of the Caribbean Islands, loving every last minute. To our dear Damon, you are deeply loved, and will be forever missed. Onward. I am so saddened to hear of Damon's passing. We worked at Fulton Five together in the early 2000's and his personality and jokes and smiles made the pleasure of working there that much more fun. I recently saw him last year and he looked great. My heart goes out to Jessica and his family.

A Consummate Pro, A Constant Friend
For you, Damon

Effortless class is hopelessly sought,
That one could acquire it would be a myth.
It cannot be purchased or handily taught,
For Damon it was a natural gift.

Evenings for years he set Fulton Fives mood,
Welcoming us with flutes of Rotari.
Hed cheerfully detail options of food,
Then knowingly bring us SIlvio Natdi.

At a wine dinner several years past,
Damon was signaling it to begin.
He tapped on crystal & broke the whole glass,
And shrugged with his classic disarming grin

With no realization that our hearts he stole,
He so freely shared his beautiful soul.

With all my love,
Margaret Bumgartner

I met Damon as a 5 year old when I was a college student at Richard Stockton State College in Pomona, NJ.(renamed Stockton University). He had the cutest little smiling face with the most beautiful blue eyes! Damon was very smart and extremely mannerable. His mom, Roberta and I were in the theater together, at that time. His mom was a very taIented actress. I am not surprised that Damon experienced life pursuing his passions..after all he experienced a taste of college life vicariously through his mom as a 5 year old! Rest well, Damon..you are definitely gone too soon.

I met Damon when he was 5 years old at Richard Stockton State College (renamed Stockton University). His very talented mom, Roberta is my friend. Roberta and I were in the theater together. Damon was such a cute little guy with beautiful eyes and a smiling face! He was very smart and extremely mannerable. He was with mom and sometimes dad at college. I am so not surprised how much he traveled as he enjoyed life as he discovered his passion in various foods. After all, he got to attend the wonders of college vicariously through his mom at 5! Rest well, Damon..you are definitely gone too soon.
