Dallas Russ Obituary

Dallas Simeon Russ, Jr. THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN - With great sadness we announce the death of Dallas Simeon Russ, Jr., of Thief River Falls, MN, born in Georgetown, SC, February 1, 1953. He passed away in Grand Forks, ND, on January 13, 2022, at age 68. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Babinski Russ; his father, Dallas S. Russ, Sr.; and his sister, Ann Russ Nickes. Dallas was a lifelong member of the BSA, earning many awards, as well as serving as a troop leader and Master Scout. A 1971 graduate of Howard High School in Georgetown, he went on to serve in the USAF during the Vietnam Era. He was an active member of the NRA, a Gunsmith and certified instructor in self defense and survival training. Over his years, he made many contributions to the betterment of others. He will be remembered with full Military Honors by the USAF Honor Guard in Grand Forks, ND. Survivors include his mother, Marcella Pope Russ of Hemingway, SC; one brother, Dennis Russ (Tracy) of Georgetown, SC; two sons, Courtney (Allison), Evan (Kayla); and one daughter, Amber Williams (Lee); three grandsons, Johnathan & Justin Russ and Everett Williams; two granddaughters, Shyla Roesler and Melody Williams, all natives of MN; three nephews and two nieces. He also leaves a large extended family throughout various parts of the country. A gathering in memory of Dallas will be announced at a future date. Dallas will be deeply missed by all.
