Dale was my room mate at Point Loma College in 1973 if I remember is right. He was such a fun guy to be with. I took him sailing on San Diego Bay and Dana Point many times.

Did Dale E Peterson attend Point Loma College in the city of San Diego Ca in the year 1974? We were roommates that year. He was a Business Major and on the golf team, I took him sailing many times on San Diego Bay and also out of Dana Point in Orange County, California

It is with sadness and joy that I send my regards to you and your family. I attended Christian High with Dale. I have continued contact with other students from C.H. and they sent this on to me. what a wonderful reunion it will be to see each other in the great beyond with our Savior. May you rest in the joy of that promise,

Dear Sue, Nick, Trevor, Glenn, and Lauren:
It is with a saddened heart that Kaye and I learned of Dale's passing. Our prayers are with your family, and we take solace in the fact that Dale is with his Lord and Savior.
"Coach Pete" was a man of great comfort and encouragement. His love for his players and P.E. "kids" was obvious to all.
One of my favorite memories of "Coach Pete" was seeing the elementary P.E. classes out on the old football field filling buckets with rocks and stones! His ability to get those kids to do that job with joy was something to behold, and it made for safer conditions for P.E. classes and the athletic teams.
Again, our prayers are with you all, and we all take comfort in the promise that one day we will be reunited with a dear brother in Christ.
In Christ's love,
Steve and Kaye Morley

Years ago, the football coach of Phoenix Christian High School asked me to run a weight training program during the summer for his football players. I was the heavyweight weightlifting champion of Arizona, and had been the strength coach for both Phoenix Union High School and St. Mary's High School.
Two nights a week,I would pick up Dale Peterson and Gary Howard, since they had no transportation at the time, and take them to the site where I ran the weight training program. I got to know Dale during that time, as the ride to and from the training site gave us plenty of opportunity to talk about different issues. I really enjoyed getting to know Dale during that time, and the many times we would talk after that period of time in our lives.
I am so glad that Dale is now in Heaven, and I will look forward to seeing him in the future.

To the family and friends of 'Coach Pete':
Having been a PE student of his throughout elementary school, and continuing to see him around the NCS campus for years after, my heart grieves at the loss of such a wonderful man.
I remember him as a wonderful man who always encouraged, and expected nothing less that your best. The words "Be PE tough", always come to mind when I think of him. He wanted all of his students to succeed in everything they did, and encouraged them until the very last.
It's funny what you remember of someone when you start thinking back. As I looked back through the years, I remember the silly games that he would come up with to make PE fun for us kids; Red-light, Green-light, 'Coach Pete' Says (Simon says), and skipping or hopping laps instead of running. He expected 100%, but would come up beside you with a helping hand and encouragment when he saw you struggling.
It's always so hard when faced with loss to remember that God works everything according to his plan. I am comforted in the fact that he is with God right now, rejoicing with the angels.
God promises to provide comfort and peace.
So as we mourn the loss of our brother in Christ, we can be comforted in the fact that we will see him again in heaven. Let us remember the life of a man who served God, and preserve his memory by doing likewise. And as Coach Pete would say "Be PE Tough", and know that he is in a better place....with God.
May the Peace and Comfort of God fill your hearts.

I remember when Coach Pete was my high school P.E. teacher and we were playing basketball. At the end of the day as we were getting ready to leave I was making a final shot from nearly half court. I remember Coach Pete yelling that if I made the shot, he would buy me lunch the next day. Somehow I managed to hit the shot. A man of his word, the next day Coach Pete took me out to lunch which was wonderful to a freshman living on school lunches that usually consisted of only pop and chips! This is my favorite memory of my friend and coach who was such a joy to have known. I wish all the best to the family and friends of Coach Pete. He was truly one of a kind!

For Dale and his family I cannot begin to describe the meaning of the warm friendship that I was able to form with Coach Pete over my lifetime. Having known your family for nearly 30 years I consider myself to have been able to call Dale a friend and mentor. He was always there to go hunting with and always there to meet up with at the ASU football games.
I am saddened on the lost opportunity to go deer hunting with Dale later this fall, but I am comforted in the sign my father and I received this past weekend after the news of Dale's passing.
A sure fire sign that Dale had his own special way of saying good bye occured for my father and I Saturday evening when I arrived home to Show Low. We took a moment away him and I to go down to his office to talk and remember Dale and as we arrived at his office in Show Low we came upon a solitary deer grazing in the twilight. The deer did not run but stood there looking back at us and continuing to graze before moving on. Certainly given there is no coincidence in our planned deer hunt, and the first sighting of a deer for me and my father up in the White Mountains in nearly 10 years. My father and I both instantly thought the same thing when we came upon the deer, knowing that the simple sign of the deer would comfort both of our hearts in this moment of grief in the loss of a dear friend.
Please accept my warmest thoughts and prayers in this trying time of your lives, but rejoice in knowing that Dale is forever looking down upon all of us and in very small ways makes his presence known to all of us that he loves us, and will see us again in heaven.
Thank you for the friendship we have shared this far, and I look forward to continuing our blessed friendship throughout our life times.
Warmest wishes and heartfelt prayers,
