Cynthia Jennings Petty CHARLESTON - Cynthia Jennings Petty, 56, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016. She was born on Tuesday, September 1, 1959, in Charleston, SC, to Jacqueline Badger Morrison and the late Louis Clayton Jennings. Cindy had a passion for antiques, and owned her own shop for many years. She enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her family. Her family will remember her as an incredible woman, who was a kid at heart. She is survived by two daughters: Da-Niel Elizabeth Belaustegui, and her husband, Michael, of Hollywood, SC; Cynthia Celese Miller of Edisto Island, SC; and her son, James Donald Petty of Ravenel, SC; her mother, Jacqueline Badger Morrison and her husband, Sonny, of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren: Reagan, Charlie and Benjamin; one sister, Yvonne Phillips and her husband, Calvin, of Charleston, SC; one brother, Clayton Jennings and his wife, Betty, of Johns Island, SC; and her significant other, Tim Hoats, of Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, 2014 Bees Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29414, with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com.
