In her retirement, Cynthia volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Mount Pleasant. Cynthia was delighted to receive the Volunteer of The Year Award through her work with Meals on Wheels. She treasured her memories of her time there and the many friends she made. The weekends were all about sports. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by Kathy and Alexis, and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Dorothea Katz, brother, Stephen Edward Katz, sister, Jackie Katz; and aunt, Ruth Cronin. One of the best teachers I ever had. As a 4th in grader In her class, It was decided that I be held back instead of advancing to a different school. As a 50 year old today, I will never forget her toughness and continued push she had when it came to me. After 5 years at Howe Hall I walked out with exactly what I needed due to her extremely tough style and push. Confident and ready I remained in touch w her through the years by visiting her and Mrs. Z on teacher workdays. As the years rolled by and high school rolled around I started my life and lost touch. It just been recently that I tried to find her and then I learned of her death. She was a wonderful woman completely responsible for aiding me in being who I am today. Strong and confident. I hope you Rest In Peace Mrs Katz and thank you once more for everything you did for me. Much love .Colline Nichols Knight
