Creighton Stork Obituary

Creighton Mitchell Stork McLEAN, VA - Passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his residence in McLean, VA. He was born April 2, 1927 in Charleston, SC. Son of the late Ira Smith Stork and Louise Mitchell Stork. He was educated in the public schools of Charleston and graduated from the College of Charleston in 1949. He also received degrees from Georgetown University and Southern Methodist University and served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946. He was employed in Washington, DC from 1949 to 1957 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Civil Service Commission. From 1957 to 1965 he was employed in Dallas, TX with Collins Radio Company and Texas Instruments. From 1965 until his retirement in 1992, he was employed with Atlantic Research Corporation of Alexandria, VA in various administrative and managerial positions. He was preceded in death by his wife, Denyse Lambert Stork in 1962. He is survived by a daughter, Louise Stork Hamil (Gregory) of Alexandria, VA; sons Peter M. Stork of McLean, VA and Stephen D. Stork, DVM (Ellen) of McLean, VA and grandchildren Caroline Hamil, Cameron Stork and Isabella Stork. The family will receive friends at the Money and King Funeral home, 171 West Maple Ave., Vienna, VA, on Wednesday, November 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, VA on Thursday, November 3, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at a later date. Louise,Peter and Steve, Tom just called to inform me of your dads passing. We only saw him a few times in the last 10 or so years but always enjoyed his visits. Mother especially was so fond of him.
