Rusty Hodge Obituary

Crawford Lee "Rusty" Hodge, Jr., 66, of Awendaw, SC, passed away on the morning of September 2, 2025, in a Mount Pleasant hospital. Born August 27, 1959, in Georgetown, SC, he was the son of Crawford Lee Hodge, Sr., and Janice Prosser Hodge. A retired engineer for Norfolk Dredging, Rusty was known for his love of riding his Harley Davidson, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting guns and knives. Rusty was a kind and loving man, always willing to help others with his superb mechanic skills. He was a devoted family man, cherishing his wife above all. Rusty also proudly served his Country in the US Navy, and was preceded in death by his father Crawford L. Hodge, Sr., grandmother, Wilbur M. Hodge, and his father-in-law, John N. Mills. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie Mills Hodge; his mother of Awendaw; his daughter, Amanda L. Hodge and her husband Timmy of Denmark; his son, Adam L. Hodge of Gaston; his stepdaughter, Amanda Sheffield of St. Stephen; two stepsons, Chase Howard and his wife Allison of St. Stephen and John Goedert of Bethera; his sister, Judy Hodge Thames and her husband Randy of Orangeburg; and ten grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah, Ryleigh, Ryan, Maya, Mariyah, Ember, Wyatt, Whitley, and Warren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be 3:00 PM Friday afternoon, September 5, 2025, at Mt. Olivet Pentecostal Holiness Church in Awendaw, SC, with interment to follow at Wren's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in McClellanville directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Friday.
