Corinne Vincent Obituary

Corinne Davis Coskrey Vincent LYNCHBURG, SC - Corinne Davis Coskrey Vincent, affectionately known as "Dool," died December 17, 2011, but her spirit lives on through the many friends and relatives whose lives she touched. Born in Summerton, SC, on October 25, 1927, Dool was the daughter of the late Blaney Ansley, Sr. and Corinne Davis Coskrey. She was the beloved sister of Blaney Ansley "Sonny" Coskrey, Jr. of Sumter, SC, and the late Elizabeth Coskrey Rollings of Pinewood, SC. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard Frierson Vincent, Sr., of Lynchburg, SC, where she lived most of her life before moving to The Palms of Mount Pleasant, SC, in 2008. Dool was happiest when surrounded by her family, and she leaves behind three children: a daughter, Corinne Vincent "Rinne" Sade and her husband Robert, Dr. Howard Frierson "Chic" Vincent, Jr., and his wife, Judy, all of Charleston, SC, and Rev. Robert Manigault "Bob" Vincent and his wife, Susan. of Columbia, SC. Her seven grandchildren were the lights of her life: Elizabeth Sade Conwell and her husband, Andy, of Seattle, WA, David Bennett Sade and his wife, Lynne, of Alexandria, VA, and Ansley Rebecca Sade, Paul Frierson Vincent, Daniel Davis Vincent, Samuel Walker Vincent, and Bailey Elise Vincent. Dool graduated from the University of South Carolina where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She taught high school in Florence, SC, and as a young mother, volunteered many hours with Girls Scouts, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Roy E. Hudgens Academy. She retired from the Lee County Department of Education as Attendance Supervisor in 1985. She is a former member of the Lynchburg Presbyterian Church and a member of the Mayesville Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Lee Gardeners, the American Legion Auxiliary, the French Huguenot Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. She leaves an enormous group of close friends, and Dool "never met a stranger." She had a magnetic personality and her legacy of genuine love will be widespread and long remembered. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Lynchburg Presbyterian Church cemetery with the Rev. Brian Peake officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 5-7 at Bullock Funeral Home, 1190 Wilson Hall Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
