Connie Hawkins Obituary

Connie Marie Hawkins RIDGEVILLE - Connie Marie Hawkins, 74, of Ridgeville, wife of Donald E. Hawkins, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at her residence. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11 o'clock at Cypress United Methodist Church, Ridgeville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins was born December 13, 1937 in Richmond, Indiana, daughter of the late Edgar and Sylvia Sturgis Settles. She was a graduate of Fountain City High School, Indiana. She enjoyed cooking and being involved in church activities where she was a member at Cypress United Methodist Church. She loved life to the fullest. Surviving in addition to her husband are: one brother: Gayle Settles, 4 children: Scarlet Oler husband Donald, Steve Hawkins, Jill Thigpen husband Michael and Mary Muckenfuss husband John, 11 grandchildren: Kristen, Michelle, Catie, Michael, Jeremy, Jordan, Kelsee, Lindsay, Isaiah, Trent, Michael and one great grandchild: Caleb (son of Lauren Mitchum), various nieces and nephews and her beloved dog: Sam. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Charleston and Trident Cancer Center for all their loving care and support during this time. I am so sorry you're gone Connie! I am really going to miss you. You & Donna Jean are very special people & very dear to me. I know you are in a better place & you're no longer in pain. I promise I will check in on Donna Jean. I really wanted to be at the funeral but I had to work. I will NEVER forget you! I love you Connie!
