Colie Filyaw Obituary

FILYAW, Colie GOOSE CREEK - Mr. Colie Wendel Filyaw, 86, husband of Noveleen Evans Filyaw, died Monday, November 29, 2004 in a Charleston hospital after an illness. Mr. Filyaw was born in Coward, SC, the son of the late William Fate and Irene Carraway Filyaw. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek. Mr. Filyaw was a retired welder from the US Navy Shipyard in Charleston. He worked for the Atlantic Coastline Railroad and was most recently employed as a maintenance supervisor for the Berkeley County School System. Survivors include his wife, Noveleen Evans Filyaw of Goose Creek; one daughter, Dian (Ron) Phillips of Montgomery, AL; two sisters, Doris Goodman of Florence and Sarah Hardwick of Aynor; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by one son, Larry Filyaw. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2004 in Brockington Funeral Home Chapel with burial in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will have visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. BROCKINGTON FUNERAL HOME, Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

We will you so much. You taught us kids many special lessons that we will never forget. You showed us all love for family and most of all how much you loved God.
