Cohen Gaskins, Jr. Alvin, SC - Cohen Gaskins Jr, 82, of Alvin, widower of Susie J. Gaskins, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022. Cohen was born on July 7, 1939 the son of Cohen Gaskin,s Sr. and Evie Cooper Gaskins of Huger. A devoted husband of 62 years, Susie and Cohen shared a very special marriage and working relationship. Cohen established Cohen's Drywall in 1975, successfully serving as owner, operator, and mentor to many. He was a large force around the office and will be sadly missed. He was also the owner of the Moncks Corner Inn. He had enjoyed hunting; NASCAR and he even owned his own dirt track racing team in his early years. As he was older, he enjoyed his horses, cows, cats, and dog on his farm. Surviving are his children, Mary G. Ready, Wanda L. Gaskins, David C. Gaskins and his wife, Aliese; James A. Gaskins and his wife, Kelly; Daryl W. Gaskins and his wife, Kim; Paula G. Crowley and her husband, Trent; and Kim G. Wren. Grandchildren, Jason Ready and his wife, Candice; Matthew Ready and his wife, Paige; Susan Ready; David Gaskins II and his wife, Jannie; Sarah Semu and her husband, Pena; Ethan Gaskins; Cohen Gaskins; Molly Shuler; Emma Gaskins; Daryl Gaskins, Jr.; Grady Crowley; Austin Crowley; Ohen Wren; Haley Wren; Hannah Wren; and Jackson Wren. Great-grandchildren, Caleb Ready; Blakely Ready; Dawson Ready; Brodie Ready; Fiona Gaskins, and Rue Semu. Siblings, Carolyn G. Dillingham and Edward Gaskins. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a brother, George "Bunk" Gaskins, and a sister, Sidney Gaskins Zett. His funeral service will be held at Pointe North Church in Moncks Corner on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 4 o'clock, the family will receive friends from 2:30 until the hour of service.
