Clyde DuRant Kirkpatrick SUMMERVILLE - Clyde DuRant Kirkpatrick passed away on March 29, 2013 in Summerville, S.C. Born on November 2, 1927, she was the daughter of Edgar P. and Cora DuRant of Sumter, S.C. She was a current resident of Del Webb in Summerville, S.C. and a long-time resident of Conway, S.C. Clyde graduated from Winthrop University where she majored in math. She was active in her church (Presbyterian Church in America), loved reading, bridge, golf, and travel, and was the best wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother you could wish for. She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Mark H. Kirkpatrick of Summerville, S.C.; three sons and daughters-in-law: John and Lisa Kirkpatrick of Goose Creek, S.C., Bill and Jalane Kirkpatrick of Greenville, S.C., and Rick and Dianna Kirkpatrick of Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren: Zack Kirkpatrick and Acadia Gagne of James Island, S.C.; Rachelle K. and Joseph Adams of Simpsonville, S.C., Ashley Kirkpatrick of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Richard Kirkpatrick of Hanahan, S.C., Jessica Kirkpatrick of Greenville, S.C., and Michael Kirkpatrick of Charleston, S.C. Clyde had four siblings: Louise Dennis of Columbia, S.C., Eddie DuRant of Sumter, S.C. and Harold DuRant and Harriet Houston who both predeceased her. The Memorial Service for Clyde will be on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at McAlister-Smith Funeral home, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, S.C. There will be a reception after the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Agape Hospice and Horizons Senior Services for their support.
