Dear Mrs. Hairfield:
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of the late Mr. Hairfield. I remember meeting him when he was studying the engineering of our wood fence. I know that he was a good husband and father. He had to be to put up with the pigeon lofts and all the other things Kim and I had going on. My condolences to you and your family. You all will be in my prayers.
Your ex-neighbor,
Paul Priest

Hello Virginia
I am so sorry to hear of Clyde's passing. Lucy called me this morning with the sad news. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to know Clyde and to have shared with the two of you. Thanks for all the times you came to Dorchester to carry me to the DAR Meetings. Thanks for the times we went to the UDC Meeting. I have missed our friendship and times we spent together over th last years. I pray that God will keep you strong during this period without Clyde. Lucy wants to express her sympathy also. Your friend, Mildred Heatley

I was considered Clyde's Indian Girl. He called me this because a couple of years ago I wore a braclet that looked Indian to see him, and after that I became his Indian Girl. I never remember Granddadyy ever being rude or mean to me or anyone. He was a very sweet man and he was always gentle. I didn't get to see him a lot, but when I did the trips were always happy and memorable. I will never forgot the wonderful person he was and the great father and grandfather he was.

I never met Mr. Hairfield, but knew his son Steve since I moved to Charleston in 1989. I worked with Steve for many years, and he has always been a good friend to me.
He and his family are wonderful folks. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Virginia I'm not sure you will remember me. We lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same school. Many, many years ago. If you remember me, I'm sure you will remember Dee Dee Maull Smith. We just wanted to let you know that you have our heartfelt sympathy.
