Joseph R. "Joe" McCutcheon

ZANESVILLE: Joseph R. "Joe" McCutcheon, 84, of Zanesville passed away at his home Friday, March 09, 2012. Joe was born in Zanesville to the late William T and Clarice Opal Moore McCutcheon. He retired after 32 years working for General Motors as an Inspector. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Senior Center and United Auto Workers. He was a family man with very few words; but when he spoke you better listen. He loved the outdoors and took great pride in caring for his lawn and flowers.

Joe is survived by his wife, Evelyn D. LaShelle McCutcheon; daughters, Peggy Ann Preston of Worthington and Mary Elizabeth Foster of Zanesville; son-in-law, Dana Foster of Newark; brothers: Glenn McCutcheon of Zanesville and John Edward (Sylvia) McCutcheon of Upatoi, Ga.; twin sister, Josephine Sheets of Zanesville and sisters: Sally Hampton of Columbus and Bessie (Max) Hittle of Dresden; three grandchildren: William R. Preston III, Christine Ann Preston and Sarah Beth Bronson; five great-grandchildren: Rion (Abby),Patrick, Parker, Payton and Koby; brother-in-law. Michael (Jodie) LaShelle of Zanesville; and very close friends Ralph "Jr." and Ada Kelly of Zanesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy McCutcheon; brother, William T. Jr. McCutcheon; sisters, Helen Shankle, Peggy Schneider and Wanda McCutcheon.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday, March 11, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE, OH. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Monday, March 12 in The Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
