Leonard was a vital member of the Airlift Control Element (ALCE) at Charleston Air Force Base where he was involved in several contingency and humanitarian relief operations with the C-141 aircraft. Most notably was the Zaire airlift that helped to stop an uprising in Lubumbashi, Zaire. Rest well, Leonard. Our Nation salutes your service.
