Clara Redmond Obituary

REDMOND, Clara AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Clara Mae Street Redmond, 102, widow of Dr. William Brinson Redmond, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia died Wednesday February 9, 2005 in Aiken, SC. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday February 12, 2005 in Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wash Belangia officiating, with burial to follow in the St. George Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Dunn, Wayne Seigler, Phil Kennel, George Reeves, Don Canaday, and Buddy Street, III. Mrs. Redmond was born August 11, 1902 in St. George, SC a daughter of the late Asbury Bascom Street and Emily Gertrude Fairey Street. She was a 1924 Graduate of Columbia College with a degree in English and she taught school in Cope, SC. She was in charge of all floral arrangements for every occasion at Emory University where her husband was a professor for many years. She was a member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA. and was predeceased by her brother and his wife, Oliver Wendell and Dorothy Street, of St. George. Surviving; Nieces and Nephews, Emily and Carl Dunn, St. George, and Oliver W. (Buddy) and Diana Street, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Great-Nieces & Nephews; Janet and Wayne Seigler, and their children Lauren and Landon of Aiken, SC; James And Melissa Dunn, and their son Jonathan of Batesburg, SC; Oliver W. Street, III, Heidi Street and Corrina S. Landers, all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and number of Nieces and Nephews of the Redmond family. Visit our guestbook at www.charleston.net/deaths.
