Clara McIntosh Obituary

Clara Sawyer House McIntosh N. CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 12, 2011, Clara Sawyer House McIntosh, 95, widow of Watts B. McIntosh. Residence, North Charleston, SC. Relatives and friends of Mrs. McIntosh are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of North Charleston. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Born September 25, 1916 in Aurora, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Mack D. Sawyer and Della Paul Sawyer. Mrs. McIntosh was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of North Charleston. Mrs. McIntosh was a great supporter of Bonnie Doone Plantation and created crafts to raise funds for the plantation. A room at the plantation is named in her honor. She was the former owner and operator of Jeanola Drapery Service in North Charleston. She was a past member of the American Business Women's Association, A.A.R.P. and AAA Group. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Taylor and her husband James "Bo" of Ladson, SC, three granddaughters, Tammy Holseberg and her husband Tim, Kim Easterling and Michelle Smith and her husband, Charlie; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Bonnie Doone Plantation, 5878 Bonnie Doone, Walterboro, SC 29488 or The First Baptist Church of North Charleston, 4217 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. So sorry for the loss of Clara. She was a blessing to everyone that knew her. She was an amazing lady and will be truly missed by all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family.
