Cindy Riggs Obituary

Cindy Gail Humphrey Riggs, age 62, of Cross, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2025. Born on June 16, 1963, in Summerville, SC, Cindy was the beloved daughter of James Elbert Humphrey and Letitia Page Harmon. A proud graduate of Cross High School, Cindy worked as a cashier at Peagler's Red & White and touched many lives with her kindness and warm smile. She found joy in sewing, cross stitch, and tackling crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Cindy especially loved hosting family cookouts and was known for her delicious banana pudding, a treat enjoyed by all who gathered at her table. Family was at the heart of Cindy's life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren, whom she helped raise and adored beyond measure. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, James Elbert Humphrey; her brother, Joseph Oneal Humphrey; and her sister, Lisa Ann Humphrey. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronnie Riggs; her daughter, Tina M. Petersen and husband Rusty of Jedburg; her sons, Mickey Riggs and wife Elizabeth of Cross, and Nicholas Riggs and wife Tracy of Georgia; her mother and stepfather, James Harmon, of Pineville; her sister, Theresa Steed and husband John of Pineville; her brothers, Donald Monroe of North Charleston and James Humphrey and wife Patsy of Orange, Texas; and four cherished grandchildren: Haley Riggs, Clayton Riggs, Gage Petersen, and Ryley Petersen. Private services will be held to honor Cindy's memory. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
