Christopher Widmer MONROE, GA - Christopher Charles Widmer, of Monroe, GA, husband of Melanie Long Widmer, entered into eternal rest Sunday July 23, 2023, at his home in Georgia. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 25th at 12:00 in the afternoon at Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church, 5931 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC 29410. Interment will follow at Nixville Baptist Church Cemetery, 3915 Two Sisters Ferry Road, Estill, SC. The family will receive friends Monday July 24, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Funeral Home, Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road. There will also be a Memorial Service 2:00 Saturday July 29th at Faith Baptist Church, 1789 Highway 11 NW, Monroe Georgia. Christopher was born May 12, 1968 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Ronald Lynn Widmer and the late Victoria Boistelle Widmer. He was a graduate of Hanahan High School and an Eagle Scout. He received a Business degree & MBA from Southern Wesleyan University and was currently working on his Doctorate at Liberty University. He was a Retired Lieutenant with the City of North Charleston Police Department and served in various capacities, from the Detective Division, Fraud & Forgeries, Patrol Officer and the Bomb Squad. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Monroe, GA, where he loved playing bass guitar in the Praise Band. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melanie Widmer; three sons: Chandler Widmer (Shawna Miller) and Clifford Widmer of Monroe, GA, as well as Connor Widmer and two grandchildren.
