All of our family have fond memories of our time at your Edisto Beach home. We also remember being with you and Chris at the home of the Murray family in Summerville. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Barbara and Family,
We loved Chris and you more than you can know. Both of you were so special and helpful to us during Mike's illness and death. You will always be a part of us and our love
and sympathy are with you today during this very difficult time.

Barbara, I want You to know I am thinking of You, Your Family, and the many Friends Chris ministered to over the years. His voice is now silent but his words remain with us; strong and steady words of conviction shared with love, concern and friendship. In our grief, let us celebrate his life and be thankful that he touched our lives in so many ways! It was good talking with You. I wish I could be there but it is not possible. You are in my heart with thoughts and prayers. Blessings to each of You!
All Is Well
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household world that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.

We were so sorry to learn of Chris' death. I know he must have suffered greatly. We haven't known Chris for too long, but he was always such a pleasure to be around. We first met on a RV trip to Buffalo, NY. We were on a number of other RV trips over the years. Chris will certainly be missed by all.

Barbara and family, my condolences to each of you. I grew up with Christopher and am remembering all the fun times we had at church and MYF and, riding on the school bus he drove to take us country children to school and back home. Christopher was special and committed to his chosen life's work. He demonstrated this even as a teenager. Nothing can ever take away the pain of loosing a granddad, father, and soul mate. May the wonderful memories of your lives together and your faith usher you through this diffcult time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I knew Christopher when he was a student at Spartanburg Junior College. What a terrific person!

This has been a long and difficult journey for the Poole Family. Chris was my dear friend and though we were miles apart, I thought of him and his family often. When we did see one another or talk with one another, we seemed to pick up where we left off the time before. I heard good things about his work and his ministry and knowing him, I am certain that it was all true! "Well done my good and faithful servant.” God has been using him for His purpose. Leading him and holding his heart and hand all the way. My prayer will be that you find peace and comfort in this old poem discovered behind a picture in an old frame some years ago.
HE LEADETH ME
He leadeth me
In pastures green? No, not always.
Sometimes He who knoweth best
In kindness leadeth me in weary ways
Where heavy shadows be;
Out of the sunshine warm and soft and bright,
Out of the sunshine into darkest night.
I oft would yield to sorrow and to fright
Only for this: I know He holds my hand.
So, whether led in green or desert land
I trust, though I cannot understand.
He leadeth me.
Beside still waters? No, not always so.
Oft times the heavy tempests round me blow,
And o'er my soul the waves and billows go.
But when the storm beats wildest and I cry
Aloud for help, the Master standeth by
And whispers to my soul: 'Lo, it is I.'
Above the tempest wild I heard Him say:
Beyond the darkness lies the perfect day;
In every path of thine I lead the way.'
So whether on the hilltops, high and fair
I dwell, or in the sunless valleys, where
The shadows lie-----what matter? He is there.
And more than this; where'er the pathway lead
He gives to me no helpless, broken reed,
But His own Hand, sufficient for my need.
So where He leads me I can safely go.
And in the blest hereafter I shall know
Why in His wisdom He hath led me so.

Those we love are never really lost to us; we feel them in so many special ways --- Through friends they always cared about and dreams they left behind, In beauty that they added to our days, In words of wisdom we still carry with us and memories that will never be gone.
Those we love are never really lost to us, for everywhere their special love lives on. You are in my heart with thoughts and prayers in your grief.
I hope this poem brings you some peace, comfort, and strength.
To Those I Love
&
Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time I travel on alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call me and I will come
Though you can't see me or touch me I'll be near
All of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone
I'll greet you with a smile and say
"Welcome Home"
