Tom and family, I have lived in Columbia for a number of years now but read the Post & Courier from time to time. I was so sorry to read of your loss, and so very sad to read that Bret was unwell for so long. I thought how you all must have suffered with him. Please know my thoughts are with you, and hope that the peace that is now Bret's will also come to you.... along with only the best memories of your dear child, brother, uncle.
Best regards,
Jean Prothro

I had the pleasure of getting to know Bret through a mutual friend. His 40th birthday was some of the most fun I've ever had. I had not seen Bret in a few years and I am sorry to learn of his passing. Your family and David will be in my prayers.

So sad to hear of Bret's passing. I worked with Bret on the Spirit of Charleston in the late 80's. Lots of fun memories of him. My prayers and condolences to his family.

I am a friend of Bret's mom, Ann. Though I never met Bret, he was beloved by his mother who often spoke of her concern for him in the past years. I send my condolences to Ann and Tom. May God protect you and shelter you both in this difficult days.
