Christopher Clink Obituary

Christopher Donald Clink GOOSE CREEK - Christopher Donald Clink, 54, of Goose Creek passed away September 9, 2014. Born in Oneonta, NY, he was the son of the late Howard and Mary Jane Clink and husband to Trish McNutt Clink. He joined the United States Navy in 1978 and he was honorably discharged as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Clink enjoyed boating, bowling and his time as a volunteer firefighter with Caromi Fire Department, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Goose Creek Rural Fire Department and Old Fort Fire Department. He was an Alabama Crimson Tide fan and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Chris is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Trish Clink; children, Dave Vest (Jamie) of Alabama, Daniel Vest (Alana) of Louisiana, Terri Gilreath (Wes) of Georgia, Melissa Clink (David) of Georgia, Stephen Clink (Jessica B.) of Summerville, Jessica Clink of Georgia and Rebecca Clink of Summerville; brothers, Alan Clink (Jen), Howard Clink (Suzanne) and Bruce Clink, all of New York; sisters, Michelle Clink and Diane Stone, both of New York; grandchildren, Sydney Vest, Rylee Vest, Mason Vest, John David Phillips, Morgan Phillips, Megan Gilreath, Janie Bug Gilreath and Carter Clink. He is also survived by his beloved dog, "Charly," many extended family members and friends. Mr. Clink will be missed by his fellow firefighters, Navy shipmates, customers and fellow workers at MUSC. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. The family will receive friends prior to service from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Carolina Children's Charity, 1064 Gardner Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
