PEORIA - Christopher Lee Branson, 63, of Puyallup, Wash., formerly of Peoria, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Puyallup, Wash.
Chris was born to Kirk Branson and Marianna Hammer on Sept. 7, 1949, in Peoria.
After graduating from Woodruff High School, he served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1970.
He worked for the Peoria Journal Star for much of the 1970's. By the 1980's, Christopher was working for the U.S. Post Office.
Sports played a huge roll in his life; he was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan and youth baseball and basketball coach.
Christopher was preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Branson of Tacoma, Wash.; three children, Christopher James Branson of Blue Island, Molly Jeanne Branson of Peoria and Mary Lisa (Greg) Scott of Edelstein; sister, Melanie Meissmer of Metamora; six grandchildren; three stepchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.
Memorial services in Peoria will be scheduled and announced at a later time.

I love you dad. I'm sorry I did not get a chance to say a proper goodbye, but I know you see me now and are shining your love light on your whole family.
