I was a classmate of Cheryl's at St. Mary's Academy in Virginia way back in 1962. I haven't forgotten her in all these years and it is wonderful to read the condolences from her many friends today and see that she became such a special lady. My sympathy on your loss.

I had the honor of teaching with Mrs. Cunningham at Clark Academy. She was always positive and upbeat. Her love of her profession and the students was apparent. My first year at Clark, I got married and my room was right across from hers. She always listened when I was stressed and offered advice without sounding preachy. I still remember the smile on her face at my wedding. Please know that she touched many people's lives and those people are better for knowing her.

My prayers are with the family. I worked at Gresham Meggett Voc School with her. She loved working with the students. I remember she had so much energy rushing around helping the students. I am sure she had the same energy at home with her son. The family have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Sean & Mary Ann,
I had the good fortune of working with Cheri for eight years at Grasham Meggett. During that time, I benefitted and enjoyed so much her enthusiasm, humor, dedication and HELP.
She was always willing and able to pitch in anytime for anybody. We went to Columbia together a number of times with students for the VICA competitions.
She wasn't just a top notch co-worker, she was a loyal, loving and supportive friend. I have had her on my mind for the last few years. I kept thinking I would run into her and get to share a few fun memories and some more laughs. Instead I gasped when I saw her in the paper. I do hope that you two can find comfort in knowing that she was ALWAYS a loving daughter, mother, sister, teacher and friend.I'm sorry I haven't seen her since i too became a poodle owner. she would love that!

Ms. Cunningham was the very first teacher that I met at Clark. I was not a member of Clark yet, but I already felt like I was. I went to the school to help my friend Brooke out decorating for prom, and Ms. Cunningham was there with a cheerful welcoming smile. The following school year I was honored to be a member of Clark Academy, and even more honored to be a part of her English and Creative Writing classes. She made class fun and worthwhile going to. She always called me as well as some of her other students "her puppy". She will be missed greatly not just by me, but by everyone who knew her. How could you not love Ms. Cunningham? She was by far one of the greatest teachers that I had, and not only was she a great teacher to us all, she was a great friend. We love and miss you.

I had the honor of teaching next to Mrs. Cunningham for four years at Clark Academy. In that time I witnessed her love for her students and her kindness to her coworkers. I was especially aware of her love for her son Sean and of course for her sweet dogs. Mrs. Cunningham will be missed greatly. I am sorry that she did not get to enjoy more of her retirement; she truly deserved it.
