Ð? Th? Minh Châu passed away peacefully at Fairfax INOVA Hospital on Thursday, September 3, 2015, surrounded by her family members. She was 86 years old.

Ð? Th? Minh Châu was born on November 13, 1929 in Thanh Hóa, Vietnam. She had four siblings, one sister and three brothers and was the fourth child. Her father was a general physician who traveled throughout the northern rural areas to attend to local family medical needs. She acted as a nurse and aided her father in all of his medical treatments and procedures, including delivering babies and assisting with surgeries.

In 1954, her family moved from north Vietnam to south Vietnam. In 1963, she met and married Bùi Hà. They have one daughter Bùi Ng?c Chi. The family immigrated to the United States in April 1975 and has stayed in the Washington D.C. area for the last 40 years. In the 1980s, she was a co-owner of the Vietnamese restaurant La Pagode in Falls Church. She also had a small catering business called B?c Hà Deli, and made traditional Vietnamese delicacies called bánh d?y giò.

She was always gentle, caring, thoughtful, generous, and courageous and was dedicated to her family and friends. She was a pianist and had a passion for the game of mahjong. She was also a gardener and brought many plants back to life with her magic "green thumb" touch.
She will be tremendously missed by all of her family. She is survived by her only daughter, Bùi Ng?c Chi, her husband Ph?m Ti?n, and three grandchildren, Ph?m Quân (19), Ph?m Ng?c Minh (17) and Ph?m An (13).
