Charlotte Roe Obituary

ROE, Charlotte Entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2005, Charlotte Grace Allard Roe, widow of Robert Boling Roe. Residence, Charleston, SC. Graveside service and burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at one o'clock. Mrs. Roe was born May 8, 1911 in Ethel, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Emory Allard and Ethel Shady Hull Allard. Called Cha by her family, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Mrs. Roe enjoyed her 94 years to the fullest with her beloved family. She lived in Travelers Rest, SC from 1930 when she moved there as a bride until last year when she moved to Byrnes Down in Charleston to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending summers at Mountain Lake Colony, where she and her husband built a mountain home for their family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lucinda Roe Turner, and son, Robert Bolling Roe, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Rebekah Roe Brown and daughter-in-law, Cathy Losey Roe, Both of Charleston. Her eight grandchildren, Helen Hill, and her husband Burrow, Clair Webb and her husband, Ric, Mary Neves Richards and her husband, Mikell, Tommy Brown and his wife Stacy, all of Charleston, SC; Dr. Elaine Roe and her husband, Tyler Vermilya, of Seattle, WA, Dr. Rush Brown and his wife, Dr. Angie Brown of Greenville, Anna Roe and her husband, Rick Gibson of Hyattsville, MD, and James Roe of Clemson, SC. Her eleven great grandchildren, Ava, Sarah Grace, Ellis, Turner, Harrison, Hayes, Emily, Gillian, Hampton, Martin and Charlie. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Porter-Gaud Foundation at 300 Albemarle Road, Charleston, SC 29407, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by J.
