Charlie Proctor Obituary

PROCTOR, Charlie Charlie Thomas Proctor, 79, of Summerville, husband of Daisy Burbage Smith Proctor died Wednesday evening, May 25, 2005 at Summerville Medical Center. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 3 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be private. Friends may call an hour prior to service time on Saturday. Mr. Proctor was born April 14, 1926 in Tarboro, North Carolina; a son of the late Jasper Thomas Proctor and Ivery Beatrice Proctor. He was a graduate of Edgecombe High School. He was a member of SC State Ceramic Association, Charleston Chapter. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired construction superintendent with McDonough Construction of Atlanta, Georgia for 29 years and also worked for Socon Construction and Ruscon Construction locally. Survivors including his wife Daisy Burbage Smith Proctor are daughters, Susan Carlisle (Mike) of Texas, Sister Sara Kay Proctor of Ruskin, Florida, Belinda Shaw (C.F.) of Harleyville, Diane Appling (Stan) of Buford, Georgia; sons, Tommy Proctor (Ann) of Jacksonville, Florida and Billy J. Smith (Jackie) of North Charleston; sisters, Mary Ann Harris and Mildred Jones both of Tarboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kelly Edwards (Tony), Heather Everitt (Sloan) and Stacy King all of Mississippi, Dana H. Smith of North Charleston, B.J. Smith, II of Charlotte, North Carolina, Travis Hanson of Charlotte, North Carolina, James Peterson of Charleston, Corey F. Shaw, III of Harleyville, Ashley Appling (Amy) of Suwanee, Georgia, Wesley Appling (Shannon) of Oakwood, Georgia, Tommy Appling of Commerce, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Logan Brice Peterson, Ashley Appling of Suwanee, Georgia, Ansley Appling of Suwanee, Georgia, and Isabella Appling of Oakwood, Georgia; former wife, Betty Brown Jacobs; mother and father-in-law, James and ruby Seigler of Round O, South Carolina.
