Aunt Toni, Susan, Barbara, Steve, Pat and Diane,

Reading the Charleston newspaper account of Uncle Charlie's life, we thought to add the words "life long friend." This phrase complements all of the words written here previously about a life in full captured ever so briefly in the paper. For the Grace family in Philadelphia, and especially in the lives of my parents, Joe and Anna Mae, Charlie Weaver's life long friendship existed as a deep and sustaining root of goodness, in all of our memories.

Charlie and Toni together, in the lives of Joe and Anna Mae Grace, helped all of us as Grace children recognize the virtue of friendship. We all hold lots of shared, fond memories of humor, laughter and great conversation from all of the Weaver's visits to Philadelphia. Charlie and Toni helped us to see our parents in a beautiful way- as their great friends- and in turn, we grew to love them as uncle and aunt.

It might be true that the phrase life-long friend was never more true than during the last time I saw Charlie and Toni together- during the celebration of my father's life at his own passing. To devote themselves to my mother, and by extension to all the Graces, revealed so much about them to everyone gathered a final time at Joe and Anna Mae's table.

Charlie Weaver's friendship was a gift to all of us. We will cherish it forever.

Peace.

With love,

John and Cecelia Grace
