Charles Allen Tuten VARNVILLE, SC - Mr. Charles Allen Tuten, 66, of Sandy Run Road near Varnville died Tuesday evening, Feb. 21st, 2012 in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Born Feb. 22nd, 1945 in Varnville, SC, he was the son of the late Nolan M. Tuten and Ruby Lee Stanley Tuten. He had retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton after 44 years of service and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying both fishing and hunting. He is survived by one son: Allen Tuten of Varnville; two daughters: Cindy Tuten of Fairfax and Catherine Cook and husband Jeff of Hampton; two brothers, Ronald Tuten of Columbia and Larry Tuten of Varnville and one sister, Carolyn Polk of Islandton. There are 4 grandchildren: Cole Tuten and Taylor, Tanna and Tucker Cook. He was predeceased by two brothers, Johnny and Mack Tuten. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24th, 2012 at 5 PM in the Sandy Run Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Paul Reid. Burial will follow in the Sandy Run Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
