Like Donald, I´m so sad to learn this today. I have tried to contact Charles a few times over the past few years but never heard anything back. I came across this today in a search. Charles was my father´s cousin. He and Charlotte visited with us a few times when we´ve been a Seabrook Island. He was a pleasant man and we will miss seeing him!

Charlotte: I was so sorry to hear about Charlie. I always remember how he loved riding his bicycle around Shelby and working with him on the criteriums we had in Shelby. He will be missed. Prayers are with you.

My sincere condolences to Charlotte and all of Charlie's family. I was so very sorry to hear about his passing.

As my first employer, I learned so much from him. I remember one instance where he had advised me how to handle a customer. The satisfied grin on his face after he had listened to me helping that customer was beyond rewarding. He was always so generous with advice, and that really helped me grow into a more confident, capable adult. I will always be grateful for my time at Suttle's and all the wonderful memories. Lots of love and light to you all.

Charlie, was to me personally, a wonderful friend, I will cherish the memory of so many sparkling conversations and his wonderful wit and humor. As a comrade in the recreated His Majesty's 64th Regiment of Foot, he will be missed by so many of our members. He was a gifted scholar, and would enthusiastically share his knowledge with all, and with humility. He was a true gentleman, setting everyone about him to their ease. He will be greatly missed.

Kathy, David and Richard, I was sadden to hear of Charles' passing.
I remember him well on Churchill Drive in Shelby, practicing his horn. Many years ago we had good times growing up with the Rhoden kids.
Kathy, you don't live far from me so maybe we could get together and reminisce old times.

My sister, Nancy called me tonight to tell me she had seen the obituary for Charles. He lead a full and impressive life. He was an intelligent and selfless man.

Sincerely, Maggie Elliott aka Teeny Reinhardt

I didn't realize it at the time, but Charlie & I came (back) to Charleston at about the same time. Despite quickly finding each other through mutual acquaintances and interests (British Cars in particular), I only now find out about his interest in cycling, another common interest that we didn't get to because there was just so much about the man to appreciate. He will be remembered fondly, and missed, by myself and many others.

I was on the IRB with Charles. He always was a thorough evaluator and a friend to all on the committee. He and I both liked automobiles so often times we would get off the subject but he was a great person. I am sorry for your loss.

My Dearest Charlotte, It was with greatest sorrow that I learned of Charlie's passing. Peggy and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your children. Charlie will be missed by all those who knew him. His success as a pharmacist, businessman, community leader, and public servant stand as a testament to his life.
As for me, I will always remember him as my college roommate, fraternity brother, and life long friend. I regret that our post-college days did not permit us to see more of each other. But I hold preciously, those times that Peggy and I spent with you and Charlie over the years. I knew in our college days that Charlie would be successful in life. I also knew that when he married you, he would have a life full of love and joy.
May God bless you and keep you well. Mark and Peggy Williams
