Charles Pearson Obituary

Charles Pearson, II Summerville - Charles "Chuck" William Pearson II, 78, of Summerville, husband of the late Mary L. Pearson, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Chuck was born on February 18, 1944 in Denver, CO, son of the late Charles and Harriett Pearson. While serving in the United States Navy, Chuck graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and retired as a Lt. Commander after over 20 years of distinguished service to his country. After retirement from the U.S. Navy, Chuck started his own homebuilding business and various other small businesses. He served as his late wife, Mary's, campaign manager and most devoted supporter throughout her career as Dorchester County Treasurer. Chuck and Mary were both active in the community and especially with Dorchester County politics. Indeed, Chuck's most cherished role in life was being Mary's devoted husband of over fifty years. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Survivors include: two sons; Charles William Pearson, III (Susan Grinsteinner) and Jason Lee Pearson and his wife Christi (Reid); Grandchildren: Taylor Lee, Brooke Kathleen, and Evan Reid Pearson; and his brother, Richard (Jean) Pearson; and many nieces and nephews. I've been trying to find Chuck for two years but struck out.
I traveled to Summerville about two years ago and stayed over night with him. Chuck reported to me in the USN from 1964-1966 on the USS John Adams(SSBN620). My wife, Diane, and I introduced Chuck to Mary in 1966, and they got married just 14 days later.
We spent time with both Chuck/May a few times, and stayed in touch with them over the years.
I would like to hear from the sons Chucky or Jason... please.

Mr.Pearson and I had some good talks this past year. He was always so very kind to me, and I enjoyed his friendship. He will be missed!
