Charles Pace Obituary

Charles Legrand Pace SUMMERVILLE - Charles "Charlie" Legrand Pace, 86, affectionally known as "Pop" of Summerville, SC, widower of Betty V. Pace, died July 15, 2010, peacefully at home. Born February 29, 1924, in Marion, SC he was the son of William H. and Janie C. Britt Pace. Charlie served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Medal of Honor. He was a disabled veteran. He worked as an exterminator for local pest control companies and later operated his own company. Mr. Pace is survived by his children: Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Thomas of Summerville, SC, Anne Angela Cook of Love Valley, NC, Teresia Marie Frank of Port St. Lucie, FL, Timmy Ray Cook; sister, Dottie Henry. Charles is preceded in death by four brothers, Billy, Zach, Harold and Ravenel Pace and a sister Hazel Lupo. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. As Charlie requested his cremated remains will be scattered at sea with Military Honors. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans 109 Bee St. Charleston, SC 29401. Uncle Charlie...You were always in my thoughts as time passed us by.

I remember meeting Uncle Charles at Annie B's back in the ealry 80's, he was a cracker jack. Betty tried to keep him calm. I will have your family in my prayers.
