To Steve's family,loved one's, and friends,
I knew Steve through many seasons of our lives and careers. He did have the gentle spirit of one walking daily with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So glad that others noticed that about him, too. He had a nice sense of humor as well. Highly intelligent and always wanting to share with coworkers the many tech skills he had mastered.
Steve, my friend and coworker, we will meet again, in the celestial realm. What a reunion it will be! RIP

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was always kind, sweet, gentle and had the biggest smile ever! I remember the times he and my brother, Bobby, spent playing sports, hanging out at our home and just being close friends. I actually was talking about how special he was to a mutual friend of his sister, Babb, and me just yesterday. Know that he is no longer in pain and is with his parents and so many of our childhood friends who passed before him. Love and prayers.

I worked with Steve at MWV until the Forestry Division was sold. We had many nice conversations as I recall. He was always very kind, gentle, soft spoken and upbeat despite his health challenges. I have thought of him often in the past few years and will miss his smile and warm eyes. The world needs more people like Steve. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

To those Steve left behind,
Please know that Steve's gentle spirit touched many of the men he came in contact with. He was a picture if the biblical gentle, humble spirit most men never know. He challenged many men to be better husbands, fathers and brothers with nothing more than a look.
He will be missed.

To Steve's family - may the Lord comfort you during this time like only He can. I worked with Steve for a few years and got to know him as someone very capable, and of high character. Knowing that he is standing in the presence of the Lord even as we mourn is hard to wrap our minds around, but for that I am grateful. May God Bless, hold, and keep your family.

Sally - I don't think we ever met as I left Westvaco in 1992. Steve and I were in forestry school at Clemson together. What I remember most about those days was how nice he was and it was always pleasant to be around him. We spent many labs and classroom time together. He was always the "go to" guy as he was able to understand the assignments and did not mind helping his partner(s) out! His technical skills served him well later at Westvaco and he was always willing to share his knowledge and demonstrate the cutting edge mapping programs, gps, etc. that he was working on. He was always well respected and an inspiration to us all. I know he will be missed.
Steve's Friend always,
Johnny Wilson

Dear Babb, Stewart, Sally, Anne, Katherine and family,
I am lighting a candle in memory of your brother / husband / father, Stephen, so the angels can find him easily and guide him into Heaven to be reunited with his parents.
Losing a family member is never easy. My heart aches for you and I pray God will wrap his loving arms around you to comfort you as you say good bye to Stephen on Wednesday.
Babb, I know you and Stephen were very close. Know that I, as well as your many friends, are here for you if you ever need to talk or need a hug.
God, bless this family.
Love, Sheri
