Charles Kneisley Obituary

Charles Luther Kneisley CHARLESTON - Charles Luther Kneisley of Charleston, S.C. died Saturday, November 5, 2011. Charles was born in Charleston, WV on November 20, 1924, the son of the late Charles and Oneida Meador Kneisley. He was a veteran of the US Army serving as a medic in the 75th Division in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Charles graduated from Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WVa and worked with GMAC Finance Corporation until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. In retirement he became a Master Gardner, enjoyed golfing, and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of the SC Toy Soldier Society. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Starch Kneisley, daughters: Mary Ables (Robert) and Nancy Kneisley of Charleston; Patty Warren (Chip) of Albertville, AL and son: Chuck Kneisley (Chris) of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren: Mark Ables (Lindsay) parents of his great-grandchildren Elliot and Beckett; Jonathan Warren (Natalie) parents of his great-grandchild Sydney; Lee Ables (Macarena), and Rebecca, Charles and Katharine Kneisley. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Kneisley are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM at St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the Service.
