Charles Holt Obituary

HOLT, Charles CHAPIN - Charles "Chuck" Holt, 55, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at home. He was born in Charleston, SC, and had lived in Greenville for 22 years before moving to Chapin 7 years ago. Chuck served in the United States Navy as a munitions expert, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Holt was a Manufacturing Engineer for INTEL Corporation and was previously employed by AT&T in Seneca. He was an avid SC hunter and fisherman and a strong advocate for Quality Deer Management. His deer harvested in Greenville and McCormick Counties were entered into the SC White Tailed Deer Antler Records Program. Mr. Holt was known to the SC Taxidermy Association, winning the Best All around Taxidermist award in 1995. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Margaret Peggy Holt; a son, Justin C. Holt of Moncks Corner and a daughter Jacqueline Evans of Summerville. He is also survived by his mother, Pauline Holt of Summerville; sister, Charlene Fields of Moncks Corner; 3 brothers, David Michael Holt of Gaffney, Dean Holt of Ladson and Kenny Holt of Summerville and grandchildren, Carson Holt and Cole Evans. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Holt. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
