Charles Carter Graham, Sr. MT. PLEASANT - Charles Carter Graham, Sr., 84, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Harriet Johnson Graham, entered into eternal rest Monday, April 17, 2023. His memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Friday, April 28, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. Charles C. Graham, Sr. was born in Taylors, South Carolina, December 11, 1938 and grew up in Loris, South Carolina. After graduating from Loris High School, he served two years in the United States Navy aboard the ship The Tawara, sister ship of The Yorktown. He attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he was President of the Zeta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, a Wofford College cheerleader, and a representative in student government. After graduating from Wofford College, he served as a Branch Manager of First Federal Community Bank in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. His banking career continued in Macon, Georgia, where he was Loan Department Chair at Home Federal Savings and Loan, and Waycross, Georgia, where he served as President of United Federal Savings and Loan. In the early 80s, he started First Trident Savings and Loan in Charleston, South Carolina, and served as President & CEO. Charlie was a member of several civic organizations and clubs, including the Sertoma Club; the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club, for which he formerly served as President; and Olde Park Homeowners Association, for which he formerly served as President. He and his wife, Harriet, were charter members of the Mount Pleasant Cotillion. He was an avid dancer and active member of the East Cooper Shag Club. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Harriet Johnson Graham, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; his son, Charles Carter Graham, Jr., of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; and daughter, Quincy Graham Busker (Clay), of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandson, Charles Carter Graham, III, of Charleston, South Carolina; and his grandson, Graham Clay Busker, of Atlanta, Georgia.
