Charles Canaday Obituary

CANADAY, Charles MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Charles Thompson Canaday, 79, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Magnolias in Myrtle Beach after an illness. Mr. Canaday was born September 12, 1927 in Dorchester, SC; a son of the late Charles T. and Barbara Pendarvis Canaday. He moved to Myrtle Beach in 1954 and was an Assistant Pro at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club. Mr. Canaday was owner of The Heritage Motel, a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Bobbie Owens Canaday of Myrtle Beach, SC; one son, Charles (Gayle) Canaday of Burlington, NC; four daughters, Paula (Charlie) Labbe of Myrtle Beach, SC, Caroline (Richard) Erhard of Pawleys Island, SC, Mary Helen Canaday of Atlanta, GA and Sidney (Clay) Graham of Hingham, MA; one sister, Margaret Easterling of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren, Amy, Reed, Craig, Charles, Allen, Lilli, Edward, McMillan and Emmitt; three great grandchildren, Larkin, Max and Emma. A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 27, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 4:00 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the home, 5909 Woodside Avenue, Myrtle Beach, SC.
