Charles Matthew "Pete" Burbage REEVESVILLE, SC - Charles Matthew "Pete" Burbage, 72, of 111 Hagerman Road formerly of North Charleston, husband of Patricia Barrineau Burbage, Reevesville entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 16, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Shelby Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Burbage, Larry Rushton, Heyward Zeigler, Jr., Jimmy Mitchum, and Michael Browder. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home. Pete was born March 20th, 1941 in Summerville, SC, the only child of the late George Wilson and Thelma Salters Burbage of North Charleston, SC. His early years were spent learning from his father who was an entrepreneur that owned several successful businesses. He spent his professional life in Construction and Real Estate owning several businesses himself including Burbage's Country Store in Dorchester, SC. He was a proud father to four children. Pete loved to hunt and entertain and could always be encouraged to show you his photo albums with pictures of his dogs, horses and grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Charles Matthew Burbage. Surviving is a son, John Elias (Chelsea) Burbage, Lexington; two daughters, Michelle B. (Michael Browder) Hawkins, Summerville and Leslie Burbage Lovingood, Virginia; grandchildren, Jessica Hawkins, Chase Hawkins, A.J. Lovingood, Preston Burbage and Parker Burbage and a faithful and adoring wife, Patricia Barrineau Burbage. Online Condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneral.info. To the family, i was out of town and was sadden to hear about pete. my parents and i were good friends of wilson , thelma and pete . we lived on no. rhett close to the family. i worked at the pure oil station wth wilson and helped pete some when he had a station.pete was a good friend even though i was younger . i have not seen him in a few years but i know you all will miss him.i wish the family the best.
