Charles Brown Obituary

Charles Arthur Brown, Sr. N. CHARLESTON - Charles Arthur Brown, Sr, 93 of Charleston Heights, passed away on November 6, 2011. Born August 28, 1918, in Sumter, SC. He was the son of the late Charlie Thomas Brown and Cornelia Ridgell. Mr. Brown was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a Mason, Dorchester Lodge # 369. He was a member of Port City Coffee Club. Mr. Brown's hobby was fishing. Survivors include one son, Charles Brown, Jr.; two daughters, Annette Bishop and husband Mark, Gloria Vinson and husband Phillip; seven grandchildren, Tammi Ward, Haley Bishop, Courtney, Ashley, Bayley Forrest and Miles Vinson; and three step-grandchildren, Gary Hurst, Greg Hurst and Josh Lawings. Mr. Brown was preceded by his wife, Thelma Brown, daughter, Mary Jo Brown, and Sandy Brown, daughter-in-law. The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, November 8, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Mr. Brown funeral service will be help on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at 1 PM, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
