Charles Briggs Obituary

Charles Briggs, Jr. Ravenel, SC - Charles William Briggs, Jr., 78, of Ravenel, South Carolina passed away, surrounded by family, on Friday, November 10, 2017. Charlie retired from the US Navy after serving 20 years as a Mineman Chief Petty Officer and then went on to retire from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office as a police officer. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlotte Brueggeman Briggs of Ravenel, SC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A reception will follow immediately in the cafe. Charlie was a guiding light for me as a young patrolman assigned to the Charleston County Police's West District. I am very greatfull to have know him. My best to his family.
