Paula, I can only imagine how you feel with the loss of Charlie in your life. Every time my back door to my office opens, I still look for him to pop in. When the phone rings on Saturday or Sunday morning, I half expect to hear Charlie asking, “What time is breakfast.” Charlie and I, as you know, were more like brothers than good friends, not only good friends but best friends. Matter of fact, we ended our e-mails with "Your brother.” Charlie and I began our friendship in 1971 after Charlie finished patrol school. We maintained our friendship through the years, even though I was gone quite a bit of the time. Charlie and I shared some wonderful times; from water skiing in Bushy Park to, well I had better not put some things in print. When we were on the SCHP, we would hold license checks at the end of the month to catch up on our activity. We always had each other's back and each of us knew that. Friendship is not something one can buy and one true friend is worth more than anything I can think of. You have lost a husband, friend, and lover and I cannot imagine the emptiness in your life. I have lost the best friend I ever had in my lifetime. Together, we must move on but not forget the good times and friendship shared during the many years and I believe we need to keep a special place in our hearts for Charlie. Please do not hesitate to call me if there is anything I can do to help you, I am still here for you. Love ya, Bruce

Dear, Paula. You don't know me but I was shocked to find my best teenage friend, Charlie, has left us..We shared years for close friendship while in highschool..We both drove school buses, rode endless hours on our skooters, hunted in the woods, any many times, double dated..Those years are molded into my life..I too spent two years in Vietnam and at that time lost contact with him..I've tried to contact him by phone with no luck, hince finding this out to my hartfelt pain..He will always be in my memory. You don't forget your best friend..Please feel free to contact me, or any family for friend...With tears, I send you my deepest sympathy..Stan Braman

When I think of Mr. Charlie I think of back in the days of donna and I, going out on the boat and bringing her home, anyone that knows him knows that he could be sometimes intimedating. Other times were where I would go to cisocos and take my son and hangout with Donna Amy Mrs. Paula and Mr. Charlie. They have always welcomed my son and I with open arms. When I think of Mr. Charlie I will always smile because all the memories I have are good ones. I still sit around with Donna an Amy telling all the stories. My prayers go out to Mrs. Paula and her family you always be in my heart and prayers!
Love, Rhiannon

I still remember when i was a teenager and Mr. Charlie rescued me because I ran out of gas and was stranded on the side of the road after leaving Donna's. It was a moment that I'll never forget as he told me he cared about me like I was his own daughter...and then of course, told me I should never run out of gas, that I needed to be more careful! He always provide smiles and great hugs! I will truly miss him. Prayers go out to Mrs.P, Donna and family.

Charlie touched many lives all in a positive way. Law enforcement the community and the world lost a good man. Mere words cannot define the loss. Rest in peace my brother.

Charlie was the best Lieutenant that anyone could ask for. From the minute I was hired, to passing of both of my parents or the very early birth of my daughter, Charlie was always there. I will never forget everything he taught me and the great times at SeaHawk. I miss Charlie and I am so lucky to not only have known him but also to have worked for him for six years. LT Charlie Boyette will never be forgotten and will always be missed!

Charlie always made me smile. Even with all those years in law enforcement, he kept right on slogging through the red tape and the obstacles thrown in his path. Fortunately for me, I was able to get him away from Seahawk a few times to go grab a bite to eat. We talked about everything from our families to Viet Nam to old time low-country politics. I will remember his stories, and I will miss him.
