Charles Ausburn Obituary

Charles Everette Ausburn POWDERSVILLE, SC - Charles Everette Ausburn, 63, of Powdersville, SC died Friday January 29, 2010, at 4:55 p.m., in Beaufort, SC, after recently being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was born and raised in Powdersville, SC, outside of Greenville, SC, and attended Clemson University. His father was Homer H. Ausburn and his mother was Morene Pritchett Ausburn and he was one of eight children: brothers, Randall, Ralph (deceased) and Edward (deceased); sisters, Patsy Ann (deceased), Maxie, Sybil and his youngest sibling Elaine. Charles was an influential philanthropist and real estate developer. While his real estate development covered many states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Tennessee, he is best known in Beaufort for The Islands of Beaufort and Bermuda Bluff Island. These tasteful developments have added an elegance to the Beaufort area that will be long-lasting. He is survived by his wife, Janie, to whom his devotion has been enduring during their joyous years together. A true and loyal friend to all has ascended to heaven and we will surely all meet again (Philippians 4:13). Memorial gifts may be made to The Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry, 1100 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC 29902. Family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC, on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The burial will be private. In 55 years I have only know one other man who worked as hard as Charles. I was glad to have know him the last three years of his life. He loved his family and his work but always had time for the people around him. He is an inspiration that is dearly missed.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
And may you be comforted by the promises found in the Bible at Revelation 21:4-
“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more,
neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
