Chad Cooke Obituary

I taught Chad for math at St. Dominic's when he was in 5th grade. I cannot believe he is gone 5 yrs. already. Yet his memory and positive effect lives on in others. He is still with us now but in a different way. Every day I see his holy card in my prayer book and pray for him. I hope he is praying for me. I need all the help I can get.

Chad came to work with us at Island Really for a bit on Isle of Palms. Though he wasn't with us all that long in the scheme of things, his happy, helpful disposition and bright smile made a big impression on me. Time goes by and employees come and go, but I still keep Chad's picture up on my desk to remember him, and though his story makes me sad, I can't help but smile when I look at him. I'm thankful for the little time I had with him, and think of him and your family often. I wish you all peace and love this Christmas season!

Jim, you probably don't remember me...I am Cathy Allen from Laurens. I keep up with Cubby occasionally and he has told me about your love for the Lord. Joy told me about the horrible loss your family has suffered when Chad passed from this life unto the next. I am heartbroken for you all and pray that our God will somehow meet you all with comfort and peace in the midst of your deep pain. I also pray you, Lori and the rest of your family will be able to "grieve well"...an arduous process. Words truly don't seem adequate... I wish i had known your amazing son, Chad...

I love and miss you little cousin. I know you'll be looking down on us all as our angel.

I had the privilege of working with Chad while he was with us on Isle of Palms. On his first day of work he walked in and blew me away with his amazing smile! The next thing I noticed about him was the WWJD bracelet he ALWAYS wore. I loved that about him. He had the best personality and kept us giggling through our busy season! I am grateful that I got to spend time with him and am deeply sorry that this world has lost the wonderful young gentleman that Chad was. Please accept my sincere condolences and hopes and prayers for peace for your family.

Most of my memories of Chad were only while he was very young and through his father's Facebook page. However, my family and I recently had the privilege of spending a day with him at a small cookout on Lake Greenwood. As I talked with Chad and watched him play with my two small boys it did not take long for me to realize what a fine young man Jim and Lori had raised. Stay strong Uncle Jim and know that you and your family are loved by many!

Cannot even begin to understand your sadness and loss, We spent two days with Chad visiting the Hoisingtons in Charleston, as well as Chad visiting us in Ohio with Emily and swimming in our lake.. What a good soul.. And a life that God took too soon. A very inquisitive young mind and a genuine good man! Speechless...

We loved Chad! He was always smiling and quick to hug hello! He was a teammate of our son's and they had a lot of fun times together. He will be sorely missed!! When I spoke to him at a ballgame this fall, he talked about how he was enjoying life and didn't want to graduate but keep living the college life. Whenever we visited Seacoast church while in Charleston, he would be there to greet us. What a special guy!! Our prayers and thoughts are with his family!!
