Cecil Boykin Obituary

Cecil Virginia Boykin SUMMERVILLE - Cecil Virginia (Cross) Boykin, 93, of Summerville, widow of Palmer M. Boykin, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her residence. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11 o'clock AM at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Cecil was born on June 7, 1923 in Berkeley County, daughter of the late Daniel Webster Cross and Rillie (Metts) Cross. She held a Master's degree in education and taught for many years in Summerville schools, both public and private during the 1970s and 1980s. She was a member of Stallsville United Methodist Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, Linda Gibson and Karen Lambert and her beloved dog, Ginger. Surviving are: two sons: Michael L. Boykin and Roger Bruce Boykin, both of Summerville; two grandchildren: Relea Boykin & Cathi Sacks; one great grandchild: Arden Boykin. She was predeceased by her brothers and her great grandson, Jacob Boykin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Francis R. Willis SPCA, 136 4 Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29483.
