Catherine Cooper Obituary

Catherine Cooper SUMMERVILLE - Catherine W. Cooper, age 95, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Born on May 9, 1930, in Hartsville, SC, Catherine was the daughter of the late Joseph Leon Hicks and Madge Outlaw Hicks. A loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, Catherine's greatest joy in life was her family. She was known for her grace, her impeccable sense of style, and the warmth she brought to every gathering. A true matriarch, Catherine was the heart of every holiday celebration - her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aromas of her carefully prepared meals. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Gloria Prindle (Bill); her seven grandchildren: Shawn Smith (Sandra), Kevin Robinson (Kayla), Keenan Cooper (Kris), Kimberly Dent, Kelly Towne (Carey), David Dent (Jane), and Autumn Gallant; her fourteen great-grandchildren: Jordan Cooper (Presley), Morgan Cooper (Cal), Natalie Smith, Sarah Smith, Ella Ravenel, William Ravenel, Riley Cooper (Payton), Cade Cooper, Anna Kate Towne, Addison Towne, Catherine Robinson, Henry Robinson, Karsyn Dent, and Grayson Towne; and her four great-great-grandchildren: Avery Cooper, Camryn Cooper, Wrenley Cooper, and Brooks Brackin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Cooper; her children, Billy Cooper and Patty Dent; and her grandson, Brian Cooper. Catherine had a nurturing spirit and a generous heart. She cared deeply for those around her and offered unconditional love and support to family and friends alike. She will be remembered as a fashionista, a caregiver, and above all, the cornerstone of her family. A visitation will be held on Friday at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by a chapel service at 1:30 PM. Catherine will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Her love, strength, and legacy will live on in all who knew and loved her.
