Catherine Ann Shannon Blanchard CHARLESTON - Catherine Ann Shannon Blanchard, 57, of Charleston, unexpectedly passed away February 20, 2023. She is known to family and friends as 'Cathi'. She was born to parents, Thomas Martin Shannon and Mary Therese Harrington, July 29, 1965 in Tucson, Arizona. Cathi graduated from St. Genevieve High School in 1983 and later graduated from California State University, Northridge. She married the late Glenn Blanchard in 1991, and they lived together in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Houston, TX before relocating to Reading, PA, where they settled for 25 years. She moved again in 2021 to Charleston, SC to be closer to her three children and her first grandson. Cathi is survived by her loving children: Nicohl Cave (30), Cameron Blanchard (24), and Austin Blanchard (23), all of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by her parents, Thomas and Patricia Shannon, and Mary and Robert Atchison; her siblings, William Shannon and Kelly Shannon; and, her grandson, Beckett. During her life, Cathi had careers as a Sporting Goods Buyer and a Realtor, as well as taking time to be a stay-at-home mom. She travelled all over the country for work and for fun and passed that love of travel down to her three children. She was an avid crafter and always gave the most thoughtful, personalized, and custom gifts. She also loved cooking for her three children and was skilled at baking. She would often go out to socialize with her neighbors, bringing them fresh baked treats to share. Cathi loved her two dogs, Rosie and Chloe, and spoiled them all she could. She enjoyed nothing more than catching up on the phone with her family and friends all across the country while sitting outside and soaking in the sunshine. Her infectious laugh and silly sayings will be dearly missed. A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in Charleston, SC. Place and time is to be determined. We have decided to delay her memorial until July, so we can celebrate her life on her birthday with all of her friends and family across the country making their way to Charleston to share their memories and remember her together.
