Catherine Barnett Obituary

BARNETT, Catherine Entered into eternal rest on the morning of December 19, 2007, Catherine Kate King Barnett, wife of Edgar L. Barnett. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Barnett are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter, Friday, December 21, 2007 at eleven o'clock in St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Interment, private. Mrs. Barnett was born November 3, 1940 in Takoma Park, MD, the daughter of Robert C. King and Helen Reid King. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was a member of the P.E.O. Women's Association and St. Michael's Episcopal Church and former vestryman. Mrs. Barnett retired as a pre-school teacher at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Barnett was very active in several volunteer organizations, including the S.C. Aquarium and Crisis Ministries. She was also an active participant in several foreign Christian Mission trips over the years. She is survived by her husband of Charleston, SC; one daughter: Elizabeth B. Powers of Chesapeake, VA; two sons: Robert L. Barnett of Millsboro, DE and Kyle P. Barnett of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren: Cameron, Callen, Brandon, Jake and Will Reid. She was predeceased by one son, Matthew C. Barnett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Center of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt.
