Cassandra Weltner Obituary

Cassandra "Sandi" Coste Weltner SAN ANTONIO, TX - Cassandra "Sandi" Coste Weltner, age 74, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina on September 28, 1949 to Mary C. and William R. Coste, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, MaryLane Coste and stepfather, George L. Coste, Sr. Sandi is survived by her husband, Henry A. Weltner, Jr., daughters, Dawn Michele Flores and Kimberly L. Barecky and grandchildren, Alyxis Flores, Zackary Barecky and Cassidy Barecky. Sandi graduated from Bells High School in Colleton County, SC in 1967. She was a graduate of the Palmer Business College in 1968. She received her Bachelor of Business from Southwest Texas State University in 1990 and went on to receive a Double Master's in Computer Science and Procurement from Webster University. She retired from Federal Civil Service, Air Force after 22 years of faithful service, where she held the highest security clearance. She was a proud honorary member of the DRT - Alsatian Chapter. When Sandi was not volunteering, she enjoyed cooking for her husband, baking sweets for her children and grandchildren and having Tawny Port Wine, Stilton cheese and water crackers with her friends. Oma loved playing and caring for her grandchildren, whether it was in the backyard where she created a kids' paradise or on the beach. You'd find her at every athletic/school event, award ceremonies, dance recitals and every activity that they participated in. You could find her twice a year in Vegas with her Honey and stay out of the way if she wasn't winning. They loved to travel, explore, and live life together. Sincerely regret I cannot visit with the family tonight to give my cousin Sonny a hug as I do not drive at night, especially in S.A.
My heart is breaking for your loss of Sandi, one of the kindest, happiest persons I have ever known. I pray the Lord grants peace and comfort to all the family.

Sandi loved being with the DRT group! Sandi was as much of a Texan as she could´ve imagined! Sandi had a smile as wide as her heart!! Loved volunteering and meeting people from around the world. I miss her so much. Praying for Henry and for your family.

Sandi and Henry lived across the street from my mom, Eloise Mason. My mom and dad worked with Henry at Kelly AFB. They were so kind to her and even helped drive her to dialysis when my brother and I couldn´t. She was an amazing neighbor and friend. We so missed them when they moved because of Sandi´s declining health. God bless you all. I am so very sorry for your great loss.
