Oh my, where do I begin. I’ve known CC since I was 11 years old. The 2 of us met when both of our younger sisters got in an argument and went home to get the bigger sisters to “duke it out”. The instant CC and I met, we became friends immediately and the fight never took place. And boy, have we been through some stuff since then! CC and I lived together in New York, she was the Maid of Honor at my wedding, and the list goes on.

Webster Defines friend as: “a person whom one knows and trusts; and acquaintance. That definition encompasses CC and my friendship. As friends, she and I were: F- funny, R – reliable, I – inspiring, E – encouraging, N – no nonsense, and D – devoted.

Throughout the years, albeit I taught CC how to play badminton, backgammon, jump double dutch, various protocols, how to drive a stick shift, and oh, that list too goes on; in her maturity and throughout her illness, “Sister Soul” (as she is known to me and our “New York crowd"), better known to yall as CC, but Sister Soul taught me to sing as if no one was listening, dance as if no one was watching, love as you’ve never been hurt, and most of all, to live as if heaven is right here on earth. Albeit CC is no longer here on earth with me, I am sure her new residence is heavenly.

So rest on Sister Soul Tucker. Your body may be gone, but you are definitely not forgotten.

I’ll love you always and miss you daily, your best friend, Chryss M. Clayton-Pollard

To Charlene and Family, you have my deepest condolences. May God keep you in his care during this time of sorrow. Carsedra was a friend of mine and held a special place in my heart. Last year when I was in Summerville, my sister and I found out about her illness. I am glad that I was able to speak to her. I will always remember the good times we shared when we were younger and the club we had formed. Carsedra, you are in a better place. God knows best. I say to the Family, hold on to HIS Grace and Mercy.

Charlene and family, I extend my deepest condolences. My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead. Following is a letter to my dear friend...

Cee Cee, I always thought of you as one of my life long friends. Although we were young girls when my family moved to Maryland, I will always remember the fun times we shared (dancing in the talent show to Flashlight--remember that?), going to the games and the other wonderful memories of growing up in Summerville. I even remember when you moved to New York and we spoke for the first time after so many years passed and my wondering how you were doing. It was an awesome conversation. Last year, when I came to Charleston to visit my family and friends, I tried so hard to catch up with you, but it didn't happen. That really hurts now. I have to accept that and know God planned it this way. I truly believe that you are in a better place and at peace in God's eternal presence, no more crying, pain or suffering. God is truly an awesome God and honors His word. Your spirit will always live in my heart. I will miss you my dear friend.
